Green Week

During Green Week, the children in reception had a visit from Anne from the road safety team. She taught the children about how to cross the road safely and the importance of wearing a seatbelt in a car.

The children also had a balance bike workshop. They all really enjoyed this and they impressed the grown ups that were running the session.

Thank you for bringing in the sticks. The children had fun using recycled materials and glitter to make their own magic wands.

A Special Visitor

Over the half term, the robin, that is often seen in our garden, visited me in the classroom.
I showed the children the photographs and we spent the afternoon doing bird inspired activities. These included using our fine motor skills to make bird feeders out of Cheerios.

It wasn't just the birds that enjoyed the Cheerios!

Some children made their own birds out of clay and feathers, they will paint them when the clay has dried.

The children made binoculars to look out for the birds that may visit school:

A few children worked together to make a nest for the class robin

Children also decided to make some soup for the birds in the mud kitchen.

Three of the children seemed to turn into birds, squawking around the garden and demanding more Cheerios!
